I think you can rip CDs right to the PS3, just pop one in. I don't use the music feature all that often but it is definitely cool as shit. And yes, Rise Against kicks ass.

I just shared my music on my PC and copied from the media server to my PS3 and w00t! I am playing with Lamb of God blasting!!! haha I think it actually improved my game.
